Workload Calculator

The World Outspoken learning center utilizes a standardized workload calculator to estimate the time students are expected to invest in our courses. While individual learning styles and preferences will impact the amount of time a student dedicates to the material, the time stamps on each course are calculated according to the following rubric:

• Reading assignments – 1 minute per every 240 words.

• Viewing/listening assignments – material duration.

• Writing assignments (excluding discussion board posts) – 60 minutes prep. time + 1 minute per every 20 words written.

• Discussion board posts – 20 minutes for an initial post + 15 minutes for every response to peers.

The total time investment advertised for each course does not include creative and/or informal assignments in which students are expected to bring their learning experiences to their particular communities through small groups, observational activities, congregational meetings, etc.
